Lewis Hamilton is a seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. Born in Stevenage, England, Hamilton joined F1 in 2007 with McLaren and won his first championship in 2008 at age 23, becoming the sport's youngest world champion at the time. He moved to Mercedes in 2013 and won six further titles between 2014 and 2020 (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), tying Michael Schumacher's record of seven championships. Hamilton holds the all-time records for race wins, pole positions, and podium finishes in Formula 1. After 12 seasons at Mercedes, he moved to Ferrari for the 2025 season. His 2021 title fight with Max Verstappen, decided at the controversial Abu Dhabi finale, defined an era of the sport.
