Fernando Alonso is a two-time Formula 1 World Champion with one of the longest careers in the sport's history. Born in Oviedo, Spain, he made his F1 debut with Minardi in 2001. His two championships came with Renault in 2005 and 2006, ending Michael Schumacher's run of titles and making Alonso, at the time, the youngest-ever world champion. He has raced for Minardi, Renault (twice), McLaren (twice), Ferrari, Alpine and — since 2023 — Aston Martin. His rivalry with Lewis Hamilton as McLaren teammates in 2007 is legendary, and he remains a regular podium contender into his 40s.
